“Today, August 12, 2017 is World Elephant Day. Who knew? I found out about it when a friend of mine, with the utmost enthusiasm said to me, “Do you know that tomorrow is world elephant day? “

Immediately, my thoughts flashed back to the South African safari I went on a few years back with the Earth Organization. I have to honestly say it was one of the most spiritual experiences I have had the opportunity to devour.

On our journey, we gained intimate knowledge about elephants, how they live, survive, relate and communicate to humans, how they honor and help their fellow elephants and even treat those that have died. Their intelligence level, perceptions and spiritual awareness are far greater than I had ever realized. I learned many things from the safari tour guides who took us out daily in their jeeps to find and closely observe the magnificent creatures. They displayed great respect for the elephants and so willingly shared their wisdom and detailed knowledge with us.

We saw many other beautiful animals on this trip (wild Zebras, Giraffes, monkeys, gazelles, and more) but my favorite were the elephants.

This brief note here is my way of honoring them and I hope to one day be able to go back with The Earth Organization and see them again. Oh, and the food was five star and so were the accommodations. Best vacation ever!”
